I just hope he doesn't leave his past work behind in exchange for more mainstream sounds. Being unique is what makes you successful, not following what some of the crowd today wants to hear. Don't lose all your old fans for a couple new ones. I'll always have an eye on Owl City, I hope it doesn't disappoint. Why the hate? (5 stars) I personally don't understand why everybody is hating on this album. I think it's great that Adam is exploring new territory and that he's co-writing. I've been an Owl City fan for years, and I am enjoying this album just as much as the others. The songs are different, but that's okay. I really enjoy them. Bombshell Blonde, Silhouette, and Embers are probably the best. Once great turned pop. (1 star) To be brutally honest, this new album is terrible. I loved his dreamy, ethereal electronica that was characteristic of songs like "The Technicolor Phase" or "Sky Diving." His lyrics were deep in a way that was also relatable. His lyrics would bring you up when you were down and listening to him was like falling asleep and entering a sweet dream. Not this one.
